Well, lets just say my goal of not bowling under 500 is ruined. I bowled a 499! I had 300 after two games and didn't get the 200 the last game because of a 10 pin. Today they are laying out the pattern so we can practice and I'm going to do 10 frames of just shooting at the 10 pin. I missed 3 of them last Tuesday.
Listening to others, I started out trying to play a tight inside shot. This was NOT working for me at all. In the middle of the first game I moved back right and played up the second arrow. This shot was holding for me but I was not carrying but leaving make able spares. The tight inside shot was leaving me difficult spares. My lack of striking combined with at least two splits the first and second game I ended up with an average of 150! Hold the applause. The last game I concentrated on staying low and letting my ball down earlier (my friend had to come over from another lane and told me to let my ball down earlier, Thank you). I had six strikes that game and missed two ten pins. THERE IS NO REASON I SHOULD HAVE SIX STRIKES AND NOT HAVE A 200 GAME!
BTW - I had to bowl with no one else on my lane. I may have also bowled too fast and thats something that needs work. Interesting how the top bowlers in this league are always the last to finish! Food for thought.
Looking forward to Tuesday. My average is going to drop to 175 which is 20 pins below book. I guess that's where I "should" be according to the charts, but I want to average low 200's on a regular shot next season. I just have to remind myself, this is not about average this is about improving on my game.

are you wanting to average 200 on the pba shot or a house shot? If its on the house shot it should be makeable but a pba shot is extremely hard. I average 210 on a house shot and a 170 on the U.S. Open shot. but if u are trying for the 200 in the pba good luck and improve that spare game.
